Woman Fakes Cancer

An Oak Ridge, TN woman is accused of faking ovarian cancer to cash in on a $100,000 insurance policy.

It seems that she forged doctors’ name on documents twich in the past year. And, she’s also accused of altering a pathology report. Uh oh.

According to investigators, the former Parkwest employee stated she had ovarian cancer in order to convince an insurance company to pay her $100,000. She had previously taken out a cancer policy with the company.

Her co-workers aren’t too pleased. According to them, “She owes us money, she lied, I want my money back,” said Lauren Cochran, who worked in the registration department with Lankford. “Will I get it? Probably not, but I want my money back.”

“We were all upset(about the cancer), we wanted to know how we could help her, we donated our vacation time to her, and you know, we’re a family (at Parkwest,) everybody wanted to help her any way we could,” she said.

Lankford set up a Web site, which has since been taken down, detailing her treatment and asking for donations.

The last update reads, in part: “Robin was very sick this week with chemo, but she is keeping her head held high and just thanks God every day.”

Nice, I’m sure there’s a special place in hell just waiting for her.
